Not only that, but this mode is littered with paid DLC (map packs, gun packs, skins, bursts) and matchmaking is needlessly convoluted (The game quite literally puts you in matches depending on your aim mode. Following his work as a DEA agent and a New York City Police Department detective, protagonist Max Payne moves from Hoboken, New Jersey to São Paulo, Brazil. The Multiplayer mode is barely hanging on by a thread. Max Payne 3 is the third main game in the series and takes place a good few years after the events of the previous entries. This is mostly notable on the Old School!Payne skin. While the facial animations are quite good, sometimes, they fall into the uncanny valley.Additionally, things said in Portuguese don't have an English translation. The Portuguese dub isn't the worst, but it's inferior to the English one. However, some levels have some exceptions, such as the nightclub, airport, and certain parts of the stadium. In the third game, shootdodging is highly recommended to be planned ahead either by jumping towards a spot behind a cover or be used to take down the last few. While this isn't necessarily bad, most gunfights you'll come across are corridors, lobbies, or single rooms. While it can be argued that Max's narration and witty humor act as the comedic relief, his humor has became much more dark and screams more Dan Houser than Sam Lake. Some cutscenes are long and can't be skipped.
Good optimization, as the PC port is quite polished. Also you can play as Mona Sax, Vladimir Lem and many more characters from the previous games during this gamemode.
While beating Old School difficulty unlocks the Max Payne Advanced skin in it's all blocky glory.
The Euphoria engine works wonders in this game. The final level and the ending is quite good unlike in other games, which were trial-and-error focused.Insane and improved Bullet Time physics.
